Pickin At The Park in Morristown May 7, 2009 thru September 24, 2009
Pickin At The Park is a non profit venue of acoustic musicians for the preservation and promotion of acoustic roots music. Pickin At The Park in Morristown starts Thursday, May 7th, and will be hosted every Thursday from May till September. It is free of charge to the public. This event will be at the Fred Miller Park in Morristown, each Thursday muscians will begin playing at 6:00pm. State Street Farmers Market June 13, 2009 Saturday mornings from May till October
State Street Farmers Market in the Downtown Center on State Street is open. The Farmers Market is open from May till October on Saturdays from 7am till 11:30am. This is the 10th year that the market has been in operation. Come enjoy fresh produce, local farmers selling locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Fun Fest Store Grand Opening June 20, 2009 9:00am
The Fun Fest Store will have a grand opening on Saturday, June 20 at 9 a.m. on the lower level of Kingsport Town Center (Fort Henry Mall). There will be exciting new promotions in the Fun Fest Store this year, beginning with a Friends of Festus giveaway this weekend. Anyone that shops in the Fun Fest Store on July 20-21 can be entered to win a VIP package to the Sunset Concert Series. This is in addition to surprise promotions throughout the month the store is open. Tickets are $10 per night of the Sunset Series. New this year, tickets for the Sunset Series will also be available at all Zoomerz locations beginning June 20th or at the Fun Fest Store for $10. Ticket prices will increase to $15 at all outlets on July 10th, 2009.

The annual Jonesborough Days in Historic Jonesborough, Tennessee, will be held July 3rd through 5th. The celebration will feature arts and crafts, festival foods, live entertainment including youth performers, and a parade through Downtown Jonesborough on Friday, July 3rd at 10am. Pepsi Independence Day Fireworks at Freedom Hall July 4, 2009 beginning at 3:00 pm
The huge Pepsi Independence Day Fireworks presented by Food City will be held at Freedom Hall in Johnson City on Saturday, July 4th. Live bands will perform beginning at 5:00pm and the biggest fireworks show in the region will begin at 9:55pm. The fireworks will be choreographed to music broadcast live on 96.9 WXBQ. Admission is free. Bring you lawn chairs or blankets for a great American family event.

Fun Fest is the best part of summer in Upper East Tennessee with days of concerts, sports, children's events and much more. Kicking off the concert series is April Taylor & Joey and Rory opening for Luke Bryan on Thursday, July 16th. On Friday, July 17th will be North Fork Switchgrass and Driving Miss Crazy featuring Trey Hensley opening for Peter Frampton and on Saturday night, July 18th, two crowd pleasing tribute bands will open for The Marshall Tucker Band. Also while you are there you can run in the Crazy 8s, 8-K race, see hot air balloons, fireworks, parade, play kickball and more - just have FUN! The "Swing For The Cure" Golf Tournament to raise Breast Cancer Awareness is set for July 11th, 2009 at the Twin Creeks Golf Course in Chuckley, Tn. Registration for the tournament is at 7:30am. By being involved in fund raisers such as this, you are supporting the research that it will take to help end this deadly disease. The cost to enter this tournament is $50.00 per person this includes Green Fees, Cart & Lunch. There will be prizes for the longest drive, closest to the pin, Hole-in-one and much more. South Holston Fly Fishing Fest July 18, 2009 10am-6pm
Come enjoy the beautiful South Holston River for the South Holston Fly Fishing Fest, it's an exciting and extensive line-up of anglers, artists, activities and vendors. This event is a fundraiser for River's Way Outdoor Adventure Center. River's Way is a non-profit organization that primarily works with youth with disabilities and youth from disadvantaged backgroundsusing team building activites and outdoor adventure programming to promote positive and measurable change. Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness July 25, 2009
Prepare for high-flyin', car-crushin' action when Monster Truck Madness heads to Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 25. The event will be held inside Bristol Motor Speedway to give these machines plenty of room to flex their muscle. Kids young and old will enjoy seeing these monsters fly through the air with ease, crushing everything in their path. Trucks will race around the Bristol Motor Speedway infield during two qualifying rounds. Eliminations will roll off after qualifying is complete. After the racing champion is crowned, the trucks return for everyone's favorite event, freestyle. In freestyle, drivers will perform stunts and moves you never thought possible. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Kids 10 and under are $5.

2nd Annual downtown Bristol July 31, 2009 7:00 p.m.
The Annual Downtown Bristol concert series "It's Great On State" is back this year. Bands tentatively scheduled to perform are Simplified, The Smart Bros, New Familiars, Christabel and the Jons, Langhorn Slim, Bombadil, Yo' Mama's Big Fat Booty Band and the Asheville Horns. Two bands will perform each night on July 31, August 15 and September 11. The concerts start at 7:00pm on the Downtown Center stage. There is no charge for these concerts.
All Harley Drag Racing August 7, 2009 thru August 9, 2009
The deep rumbles of Harley-Davidsons will fill the air Aug. 7-9, 2009 as the AHDRA Rush Racing Products; Thunder In The Valley Nationals invades Bristol Dragway for three days of ground-pounding excitement. Fans will want to take in the sights and sounds of some of the meanest Harley-Davidsons the All Harley Drag Racing Association has to offer. The Pro Categories showcase insanely fast racing, including the thrilling Top Fuel Nitro-powered Harleys. The Top Fuel bikes are sure to please as they scream down the famed quarter-mile in Thunder Valley at speeds in excess of 200 mph. With 16 classes of competition and tons of vendors, there is something for everyone at the Thunder In The Valley Nationals.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Hot Air Balloon Rally August 7, 2009 and August 8, 2009
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington county Virginia is having it's annual Hot Air Balloon Rally August 7th and 8th at the 4-H Center in Washington County Virignia. Their will be 14 hot air balloons there including the world's tallest; The Energizer Bunny "Hot Hare" Balloon. The Energizer Bunny Balloon inflated, stands 15 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty, and it's ears alone are the same size as the average hot air balloon. The weekend will consist of 4 balloon launches, arts and crafts vendors, as well as activities for the kids. The cost of admission each night is $5 per person and children under 12 are free, ALL proceeds go to help serve the children and youth of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Family Fun Day, entirely free for everyone. Saturday, August 8th from 12pm-4pm at Latture Field in Abingdon. There will be inflatables, the Rock Wall, games, prizes, face painting, music, sand art, a dunking booth, snow cones, cotton candy and popcorn. Everyone is invited. Race Weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway will kick off on Friday, August 21st when the gates open at 9:00am, practice and qualifying will take place all day, then at 8pm the green flag for the Food City 250 will fall. On Saturday, August 22nd at 7:30pm get geared up for the Sharpie 500.

The annual Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival will be held on the weekend of September 18th-20th on State Street in Downtown Bristol. There will be three major outdoor stages, eight indoor venues, and five acoustic tents all on State Street in Downtown Bristol. The Unicoi County Apple Festival has become an annual tradition for local residents and visitors alike, as thousands fill the streets of downtown Erwin the first Friday and Saturday of October for entertainment, unique crafts, food and fellowship. The festival features more than 300 handmade craft vendors, gospel entertainment, a children's area, cooking contests, apple butter making, and much more. Whitetop Mountain Molasses Festival October 11, 2009 11am - 7pm
Mount Rogers Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad invite you to the Whitetop Mountain Sorghum Molasses Festival. The highest mountains in Virginia will have their fall "coats of many colors" on, so bring your camera when you visit. Enjoy the spectacular views and watch close up the molasses and apple butter making. And you can buy some to take home along with great memories. This traditional mountain festival also features a craft show, live music with some of the region's best mountain music makers, dancing, chicken BBQ dinner plus a gigantic bake sale. It is held at Mt. Rogers Fire Hall on Rt. 58 in the Whitetop Community.
Sharky 500 October 17, 2009
On October 17th Speedway Children's Charities & Bristol Motor Speedway will drop thousands of rubber sharks into Beaver Creek racing 500 yards to see which one takes the checkered flag in the Sharky 500. The owners of the winning sharks have the opportunity to win one of several terrific prizes including $5000 to Grand Home Furnishings, a Universal Studios vacation package and more. The sharks are $10.00 and all proceeds go to the Bristol chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.
