Country Star Lila McCann Visits WXBQ!

Nineteen year-old country music singing sensation Lila McCann visited the studios of WXBQ to talk about her upcoming concert appearance in the Tri-Cities. Lila will be a featured artist at WXBQ's Hot Country Night on Saturday, June 30th (4th of July Holiday Weekend) at Bristol Motor Speedway. She also attended a news conference at the Speedway where the 4th of July concert was announced. Lila will appear with Mark McGuinn and South 65 and the evening will be concluded with a huge fireworks show immediately after the concert.

While at WXBQ Lila was interviewed by Reggie Neel during his Midday Show. She talked about her exciting career as a teenager in the world of country music and about her new album...entitled "Complete" which is due out on June 26th.

Lila recently moved out of her parents home. She bought a new home in Santa Monica, California, where she lives alone. Lila told Reggie that her mom was a little worried about her living alone in Santa Monica, but after her mom visited the new place she relaxed a bit. "Mom took a look at the area and decided that everything was okay", Lila said.

If Lila has a romantic interest in her life, she wasn't talking about. She said that she often goes on-line to see who the gossip sites claim she is dating. "I've been linked to some really good looking guys," Lila laughed.

Lila has just finished filming the video for her current hit "Come A Little Closer". And, she told Reggie that see is happy with her new album that will be released at the end of June...just before she will be back in the Tri-Cities for her concert.

Lila's national attention began when she was only 15 years old with her first hit "Down Came A Blackbird" which was followed by the Number 1 smash "I Wanna Fall In Love". Her country music career did not stop her normal teenager life. She kept singing and recording while a full time student (class of 2000) and varsity cheerleader. And, she was declared by Teen People magazine to be one of "Twenty Teens Who Will Change The World." But for now after graduating from high school, Lila will be concentrating on her music. When Reggie asked her if she planned to go to college, she just groaned.
