In the vagabond world of radio, it is a little unusual that Bill Hagy is still working for the same hometown company he started with in the 1960's when all the big stations were in the AM band. But his hometown roots have not limited his success.
After his '60s accomplishments with rock 'n' roll on the AM dial, Hagy joined the FM revolution and had his first exposure to country music programming with the company's WKYQ-FM in Paducah, Kentucky.

Later in 1978, WXBQ-FM (then WFHG-FM) was switched to the country format and a huge wave of success began for both Hagy and Bristol Broadcasting Company.
Under Hagy's guidance, WXBQ grew during the '80s to become the overwhelming market leader - a position still held today. For more than a dozen years, WXBQ-FM has held the Number One spot in the Tri-Cities market. WXBQ-FM has also been praised as one of America's highest rated station.
In addition his duties as Program Director for WXBQ-FM, Hagy also serves Bristol Broadcasting Company as Corporate Operations Manager overseeing company stations here in the Tri-Cities and in Kentucy and West Virginia. In each of these markets the Bristol Broadcasting Company stations command dominate ratings positions year after year due in no little part to Hagy's influence.
