Alabama's Randy Owen Visits WXBQ

Alabama's new CD entitled When It All Goes South is now on sale, and Randy Owen of the group stopped by the WXBQ Studio to chat with Reggie Neel about it. "I'm really happy with the vocals on this CD", Randy told Reggie during the interview. "As far as the vocals...I think this is our best CD ever."

Randy reminisced about the early days for Alabama, about playing in Myrtle Beach, and about his family. He talked about working in a sock mill in Fort Payne and about the very first album that he ever bought. (It was a Loretta Lynn gospel album.) Randy said that he knew his dad would have loved a couple of the songs on the new CD. And, he especially wanted to thank all the fans who have supported Alabama through the years.

Before leaving, Randy also talked about the WXBQ Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon. Randy created Country Cares in 1989 and has been very active in the cause ever since. [The St. Jude Radiothon is an annual event on WXBQ]
